Nice but forgettable. 3.5/5 Typical Coen brothers quirkiness but doesn't reach the heights of their best works. 3.5/5 This was fucking depressing. A really powerful movie that deserves an HD re-release. 4/5 Phenomenal artistic vision and stunning performances from Pattinson and Defoe. I'm only giving it a 4 because it lagged a little towards the end and I didn't feel like the horror elements were as strong as they could've been (although that's probably more to do with the expectations that I went in with).

Found this on a limb, it wasn't the finest film I've ever seen or anything like that, but I thought it was pretty fun. 8/10

A classic from my childhood, and probably the most entertaining iteration of the story in my opinion. It was good, mindless, dumb fun until it got to the “empowerment” bullshit, all the “you choose your own fate” stuff, and then it fell faster than that Lockheed C-5 Galaxy in the film. Eh. After redeeming rewards on his theater card, my brother only spent like 50 cents on tickets, so it was worth that.

Excellent sociohistorical doc about the South Bronx and the fires set there in the 1970s. Turns to an uplifting and positive portrait of a diverse community by the third act. Well made. Link to watch in my review: letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/decade-of-fire/

Not bad, not great. Laudable to finally have a film about such a legendary figure of importance and value, though. It's worth seeing despite a lot of questionable liberties with the real events. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/harriet/

I need to see this badly. Pain and Glory is brilliant.

Had some good elements but didn't really engage me. 3/5 I don't think this has aged well at all. A few good action set pieces. 3/5 This had the components to be really great but the storytelling wasn't quite there. 3/5

Pretty lame, but it's what i expected. Flag-humping Jap-killing war movie. But i'll credit a much more well-rounded story than i anticipated, with large sections dedicated to the Axis strategy and their bravery as well. Take your grandpa to the theatres. He'll love it. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/midway-2019/

There is so much going on in this movie I already forgot what the first 10 minutes are about. Ridiculous (in a good way) 3/5
