Tool- Fear Inoculum
I got in quite a bit of listening to the whole album as of now. Me not being a Tool fan, I had hopes that this would get me into the band, given their popularity. It didn’t exactly open me up to them, but I also found there were a few nice moments on it. Best moment on the album for me was in “Chocolate Chip Trip,” that badass drum solo business. The drums on this album are the most standout feature for me, even though they are so conservative throughout much of the duration of the songs. I also really enjoyed the songs “Invincible” and “7empest.” The album is way too long for my tastes, and those ambient and experimental instrumental tracks are just fat I’d trim out if I were Tool. In order to keep this in my music library, I will probably do that. The overall feeling listening to this band for me is similar to how I feel about listening to Meshuggah. The ideas are really cool, but it gets pretty tedious for me. All in all, I enjoyed the album more than I expected to, but I probably won’t be returning to this album anytime soon.

Sepultura - Schizophrenia Fantastic thrash here. I’m surprised and impressed by your selection, sir! Schizophrenia isn’t their most popular thrash album, but it is certainly my favorite, and is in my opinion their best song writing, not to mention it has one of the best instrumental tracks you can find on an old school thrash album.

Honestly, from “Morbid Visions...” to “Chaos AD”, Sepultura had thrash on lockdown. “Schizophrenia” is probably my 2nd fave from them, right behind “Beneath The Remains”.

For me, it would be Schizophrenia, Arise, and then Beneath the Remains. Although BtR is their more popular thrash era album, it hasn't stuck with me as deeply as Arise and Schizo, but all are great albums. Also, I just have a weird thing with the album cover for Arise, like, what the fuck am I looking at, but at the same time, it's kinda subtly badass.
