This premiered on Showtime tonight. This was one of the most fun movies i've seen in a long long time. It would have been incredible to see this on a big screen in a theatre, but at home will work just fine.
Sharlto Copley remains one of my favorite actors. God he needs to be in more well-written movies. He can do anything.
Unlike other David Lynch movies, this G-rated (really) one makes you look hard to find any other the usual dark or subversive themes. But they are there, deep under the feel-good narrative and folksy charm of the Midwest accents.
How this movie didn't get an Oscar nomination for best screenplay is unfathomable. As it is, Richard Farnsworth was nominated for best actor in what i think was his final role before his death the next year.
