I've read 3 pages out of 17. I don't know why I've never come to this thread, I think it was too far off when I first noticed it and never came. But, here I am. So, I haven't read everyones, but I'm gonna start talking about my interest.
Dragon Ball; If you know me at all, you know I'm obsessed. From having 200+ figures, to having a full leg sleeve based off the Cell saga, to multiple other DB related tattoos. This show is just perfect for me. Right now, I'm caught up in the manga (as I read online), and I'm digging the direction they're taking so hard. Can't wait to see it brought to life.
One Punch Man; I got refered this show by my tattoo artist who did my DBZ leg. Instantly fell in love. I would say this show reignited my love for anime. Before, I didn't dive too much in, it was just DBZ. After I got into this, it just went crazy. Anime all the time for me. Like DB, I'm reading the manga and am so stoked on season 3. This next arc is amazing. You finally get to see all the S classes step up.
My Hero Academia; Right now, this is my obsession. I currently am wearing a Bakugou shirt as I type this. This show is just perfect to me. The character progression, the emotions you/them go through throughout the series, the fights. Fuck. It's just so clean all around, in my eyes. My only complaint from manga to anime is that they gloss over stuff. The Gum/Red Riot fight was like 4 chapters. In the anime, it was half an episode? Mirio and Overhaul? It was such a perfect fight, in the manga. In the anime, while it was still solid, they just glossed over so much. The whole flash of pictures of whats going on? Not for me. Still solid though. The next few arcs are pretty sweet, but the League of Villians arc is fucking perfect. You really get to see them and their quirks shine. Also, Himiko Toga is my waifu.
Demon Slayer; Along with MHA, Demon Slayer.... Holy fuck. Perfect. I'm not caught up on the manga (in the 110's of chapters and theyre nearing 200). The character and world building on this is incredible. The designs of each demon and their abilities is so wildly creative, I absolutely love it. Unlike MHA, I feel like the manga/anime adaptation is so clean and good on this. They don't leave anything out. Definitely gonna go down as one of the greats.
Tokyo Ghoul; Now this one is thanks to a marsher. When I was in Sweden, I was in the EU version of Secret Santa and I believe Essien got me? Could be wrong? Well, he knew my love for DBZ so he shared his love for Tokyo Ghoul by buying me issue 1 of the manga. I thought it was fucking incredible. I read the first issue, and then jumped right into the anime. Now, when it comes to the anime, I have conflicting views. I love season 1/2. Season 3 and onwards is Tokyo Ghoul RE, which I have't read yet. The thing though, with season 1/2. In the manga, the first season is about 60+ chapters translated into 12 episodes. You miss out on SO much background lore of the ghouls an the CCG. Then season 2 is somewhat awkward in comparison because it doesnt line up with what they did in the second half after the manga. Big manga spoilers ahead.
in the manga theres a whole storyline about how the whole accident with Rize and Ken wasnt an accident and the doctor has been experimenting on people and ghouls for a long time. Then it goes into even more depth when you find out Rize is alive and the doctor is doing even more ghoul experimenting and making an army of one eyed ghouls.
Those are the big ones that I love/am obsessed with. Now with ones I've watched and fully enjoyed, and other ones I'm working on. I wont go as in depth, but a little blurb
Death Note; Fantastic show, fantastic writing, and I love the depth the Light thinks of using the DN. Movie was mediocre at best.
Attack on Titan; Great show. I saw someone refer to it as the Game of Thrones of anime. I agree. I'm halfway through season 3, just havent gotten around to it yet.
Elfen Lied; Just finished this the other day. I heard the manga is better and more in depth, and longer, but I did love the anime. Good action, good gore. Stoked to check the manga.
Another; Was a bit slow to the start, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I just picked up the manga where it too is also way longer and more in depth
Mob Psycho; Almost put this one up up there in the big description ones. Love this show. Love the characters, absolutely love the animation style. I have the manga, just waiting to find time to read it.
Now ones I'm working on (slight spoilers ahead)
Hunter x Hunter; I'm in the 30/40's I think? Killua and Gon are at the tower, learning to to Ren, and Killua just signed up for a fight? Enjoying it, love Killua.
Berserk; My room mate loves this one. I'm only a few episodes in, But I know all about it. Watched the 3 movies, and enjoyed it, now going through the series.
Naruto; Everyones shocked when I say I haven't watched this. Just skipped by me. Anyways, Enjoying it so far, at the part where the one snake dude summons the first 2 hikage's to fight the latest one
Corpse Party; Found this one in an AMV, and it looked gory af. Watched an OVA and first episode, 3 more left. Super gory, looking great so far.
Cowboy Bebop; This one is just super fun. Space western, super fun characters. Only on the first handful of episodes, but I'll slowly chip away at it.
Neon Genesis Evangelion; Again, room mate loves this, everyone loves this. Only on the first few handful of episodes. Enjoying it thus far.
Now for the ones I have downloaded/recommended that I just need to get around too.
