Incredible imo. I can understand the criticism regarding the protagonists and the story, but I thought it was very well-paced and appropriately tense throughout, not to mention the cinematography. 5/5 and probably my pick for best picture (although I still have a few left to see).

Good but not great. Shameful ignorance or outright avoidance of the NFL's role in chronic brain trauma. One of those docs that people love who usually don't watch documentaries, cause it's not that great. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/gleason-2016/

3.75/5 I enjoyed it and found it interesting, it also refreshed a lot of things I had forgotten about his situation. Overall it was interesting but something just felt a little off, like it could have been a lot better if they had did something different, I just can't think of what that something different would be. Also it covers a lot of topics I wasn't expecting it to, which isn't a bad thing. Had some good insight and behind the scenes things going on.

Sorry, I thought this was bad and the fact that it got a best picture nomination is weird. Tonally inconsistent and far too toothless to be an effective satire; its message is basically "Nazis bad," which almost everyone watching is probably already on board with. 1.5/5

The gentlest film I've ever seen. 4/5
Thought this was brilliant. Like a cinematic version of Euphoria. Loved the cinematography and the soundtrack. My only complaint was the pacing - the slightly unusual structure made me think it was almost over like 3-4 times. 4/5
By Shinya Tsukamoto of Tetsuo: The Iron Man fame. I loved Tetsuo back in the day and found this in Letterboxd's Top 50 Horror Films of the Decade list. It had flashes of genius but was such a harsh/abrasive experience that I struggled to really enjoy it. 3.5/5

Kinda disappointed in this PBS doc about a father and son reconnecting when the son is convicted of terrorist ties to ISIS, and trying to reconcile his extremism. Meandering and a little boring. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/accept-the-call/
