Very good! An excellent biodoc with fascinating details, intimate memoirs and interviews, and a smart use of voiceover and archival footage. This is better than the biopic Judy from two months ago. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/sid-judy/

Very very good doc about the Shinnecock Indians and the continued usurpation onto their lands by Long Island residents for 300 years. Extremely well-made. Check out a link in my review: letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/conscience-point/

I liked this! Downright forward-thinking for its time with sympathetic and nuanced views of Native Americans, it's still a little cliched but so much better than nearly any portrayal of Indian life than anything else in the 1950s. Recommended. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/broken-arrow/

I was totally sold on the idea of an Alicia Vikander thriller set in 80s Japan. Sadly the plot sucked and the suspense just wasn't there. 2.5/5
So I actually watched a fan edit of this called The Cloak of Deception. It's still a deeply flawed film but they've made it more palatable by cutting some of the bad dialogue and Jar Jar scenes. I give it a higher rating than it deserves because of the nostalgia value. 3.5/5
Some people really rate this film. It's undeniably well made and has a great cast but I didn't vibe with it. 3.5/5
Went to a screening of this. I didn't know why they were showing it until one of the title cards reminded me that the film is set in November 2019. One of my favourite sci-fi movies. 5/5
Pretty average compared to other mob films from this era. The tone was weird (it went a little Western at one point?) but it was made enjoyable by a few good set pieces. 3.5/5
A kung fu rap musical from Sion Sono. I thought this was going to be the first film of his that I didn't enjoy (the rapping is... not great) but the humour and insanity won me over by the end. 3.5/5
Yikes, I didn't enjoy this at all. The concept was weak, I didn't get any real sense of tension and the dialogue was god awful. Surprised it's had such good reviews on Letterboxd. 2/5

This was so good. Incredibly moving, hysterically funny in parts, and brilliant performances from Adam Driver and Scarjo. One of my favourite films of the year. 4/5

Doc about deported veterans in Mexico and the circumstances that led the U.S. to revoke their chance at citizenship after promising it to them years ago. Sobering stuff. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/ready-for-war/
