Travis Scott: Look Mom I Can Fly.
Had high hopes. Was so bad.

Another batch of Halloween movies:
Planet Terror: Super fun and schlocky. I had already seen this back when it came out, but the only thing I remembered was Quentin Tarantino getting shot in the dick. 3.5/5 Red Eye: The two leads were really the only noteworthy thing about this one. 1/5 Halloween 2: Not a bad film, but it doesn't reach the same level as Carpenter's original and the demystifying of Michael Myers makes him a lot less frightening. Cool soundtrack, though. 3/5

Joker. I liked it. Amazing soundtrack. And Joaquin is stunning.

Stupendously funny if a one-note joke, Keaton can carry it forward for an hour anyway. The scene trampling the players on the football field is the hardest i've laughed all week. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/seven-chances/

Watched a lot of films over the past couple of weeks, including a lot of disappointing 2019 horror: Annabelle Comes Home. Very shit. 1.5/5 Crawl. Shit. 2/5 The Curse of La Llorona. Extremely shit. 1/5 Child's Play. Shit. 2/5 It Chapter Two. Very shit. 2/5 I've also watched... Face/Off (dumb but fun, as expected, 3.5/5), Toy Story 4 (more of the same but they have a winning formula, 3.5/5), Yesterday (bad but I love Lily James, 2.5/5), Tourist Trap (a weird, messy 70s slasher with some effective moments, 2.5/5) and El Camino (enjoyable but just felt like an extra long episode as opposed to a feature length film, 3.5/5). And a few I've seen at the cinema that get the full poster treatment: Spectacular and I loved it, the only thing that stopped me loving it more was that it felt like a mishmash of a number of other films I love, without being as impactful. 4/5 Might be my favourite movie of the year so far. Reminded me a little of Lady Bird but with an East vs West culture clash at the centre. Laugh out loud funny but also cry out loud moving. 4.5/5 Guilty pleasure. I was a big fan of the TV show and this was just more of the same. It gives me, I think they call it, 'endorphins'. 3.5/5 Brilliant. So good to see De Niro, Pacino and Pesci together. Not sure it quite justifies the 3.5 hour run time, but it's on par with Scorsese's other mob works (Goodfellas, Casino). 4.5/5
