I'm glad there are others that do this, took me years to finally finish my collection. My goal is to get this done by the end of June. I'm lucky that I really only need to check about half of my collection, but it's a good way to audit doubles and things I have.

I have spent way too much of my life re-tagging songs/artists/titles etc. It bothers me when an album doesn't have artwork too. I've seen some friends itunes libraries that would drive me crazy if they were my own.

The absolute worst, though? When somebody's library consists mainly of untagged, unorganized singles. It's physically painful to look at. I once offered my brother the chance to let me organize his library and tag his shit for absolutely free, and he said it was already "the way I like it". [cringe]

I'm not too anal about the tagging and folder structure, but I do organize by genre and make sure each folder is Artist - Album

To be honest, I use iTunes and normally let it handle genres/dates for all the albums and EP's, as I don't pay enough attention to those two areas enough to do anything. I am, however, super anal when it comes to artwork nowadays. I do want cover art for all my music, and I'll track it down if I have to.
