Apologies to vans or other vehicular modes of transportation not in the subject.
I ask this not just because i'm curious what you all listen to, or how loud you listen to it, or whether you have subwoofers that shake the car two lanes down from you (although those are all things i'd like to hear about), but because i'm genuinely unsure of how other people listen to the music they like when they're driving nowadays.
I am a millennial dinosaur, because i literally still own a working Zune and plug it into the auxillary (wait, spellcheck says that's not a word, really?) port in my 2007 Sentra so i can play 120 gigs of music there.
I know in newer cars this is next to impossible, so what do people even do now? Can phones handle all that music? Don't their batteries run out in like a half hour? Does Spotify have everything? Do you all just suck it up and pay for satellite radio now? Or nothing?

ATM, I just have CDs. I had one of those cassette things that you put into the tape deck and then plug into your phone but that broke on me.
But this Sunday I'm getting a new stereo installed with an AUX port, Bluetooth, Spotify, and CD player.

My car doesn't have an USB port or aux for that matter but I use one of those radio frequency adapters to plug in my ipod. The audio is shit but it gets the job done. Planning to get one of those portable bluetooth speakers & just go with that for a clearer listening experience.

I have an old ipod I keep all my music on and always bring in the car and plug that in to the aux in the center console. If I forget my ipod or its dead I just use Spoitify on my iPhone, it does have most music I've looked for unless it's like super underground or a mixtape and not album. My car's stock sound system is a pretty good Bose, I don't really feel the need to get subs.

I drive a 2003 tahoe which means that I can only use CDs or a Cassette. The CD player is broken so I use those cassettes with an auxiliary cord and hook it up to my IPOD Nano. I sometimes hook my phone up and play through spotify. The sound is pretty solid, I enjoy blasting music with the windows down. Especially while sitting through soul-crushing traffic.
PS, you spelled auxiliary wrong.

Either CD (usually a mixed mp3 disc) or my Ipod through the aux jack.

They are about $125 (Target, Walmart, Best Buy)and that thing is awesome!

Used to connect my phone through aux cable and listen to Spotify, usually the Daily Mix created for me (by Spotify). Now I no longer drive a car.

USB if there is a lot, CD if I found something.
I usually get a few albums I haven't heard yet and listen to them while driving, so I can be surprised by whatever is going on. If there is something I already like, I will usually try to get the CD and deliberately chose what drive it's suited for.
