Thinking about trying a Final Fantasy game on my Switch here soon, does anyone have any suggestions on a good place to start? I keep trying to like open world RPG's and I just never do (except Skyrim and WoW). I'm hoping a more linear game like FF might be more up my alley. Octopath Traveler. You’re welcome.

I’ve beaten all three several times. I highly recommend starting with 9, as it’s extremely balanced. FFX is incredible as well, and isn’t open world. Actually, X is incredible. But I think 9 is the best to start with if you dont need a game with 3D Polygons or whatever. Both 9 and 10 have extremely good stories.

I think 9 is on sale at the moment. 8 is my personal favourite, 7 is obviously the most popular. X is more of a new gen game compared to the others. There’s no shame in playing these games with a strategy guide on hand, if it helps you enjoy them more. Tbh that’s how I grew up playing them. I was always more interested in watching the story develop and unlocking everything than figuring every little thing out for myself.

Your personal favorite is 8?! ...I rarely hear that, but it is absolutely my personal favorite as well! I could nerd out on the junction system customizations, the card game, or GFs all day. Love that game so much! You made my day. I still think 9 is a great place to start. It’s simpler than 8, better looking and sounding than 7, and I think it has the most unique sense of storytelling in the bunch.

As much as I enjoyed Octopath (it’s stunning in many ways), its storytelling aspect is a little bit too broken for me to put it up there with those Final Fantasy games. I hate how each character’s story is not connected with other characters, and how you’d need to level so much to be able to do the next part of each character’s story. It made it hard to feel continuously invested in storylines for me. But if one looks at it for its mechanics, visuals, sound, and nostalgic feel, it’s bloody fantastic. I still preder any of these FF games over it, personally.

Placed 4th in Warzone tonight by following a strict non-confrontationalist stance, avoiding combat until the circle was too small not to avoid combat, AKA my teammates dropped on me and I lone-wolfed it for the entire match.

I finished second in like my third ever game of Warzone under similar circumstances. I was still getting to grips with it, had no idea at the time that it'd probably be my best ever chance at getting the elusive dub.

I was probably a little too young for 7 when it first came out, but the timing of 8 was perfect for me. Although 7 was more epic, I found more of a connection with the characters and story in 8. And yeah, the GFs and card game were awesome. I think I have some permanent RSI from boosting the GFs attacks from spamming square so much haha. I loved the soundtrack too.

Was playing Plunder yesterday and was getting sick and tired of getting wiped in the Quarry, so I did some reverse psychology, borrowed a car and legit squad wiped a team waiting for a cash chopper to arrive. Felt damn good for once.

After finishing Witcher 3, all I’ve played is Eternal Card Game. That is definitely likely to change in July though. Anybody else excited about Skater XL? I, like many, have always hoped for a new Skate game, and this will likely be a nice new approach to skateboarding games that I will full immerse myself in. I’ll probably get it on Switch, although it seems like a game I’d rather play on PS4. I just don’t use my PS4 anymore.

I just can't wait for 2K to start making NFL simulation games again... Madden needs competition

Got my second ever Warzone win last night, but, true to form, I died before the finish. Bastard melee’d me from behind just as I finished reviving a teammate.
