Thinking of getting back into Hearthstone or Overwatch, someone talk me into or out of these choices. I stopped playing Overwatch regularly a year or two ago, but still pop back in every now and then because of friends who play it. Honestly, not much has changed in the game and I would uninstall it if I didn't know anyone else who played it. New maps and heroes are pretty mediocre, annoying characters are still annoying, too many of the heroes are designed fully around a singular gimmick that's just not fun to play against. I usually just go in with Doomfist and punch people into walls and it's sort of entertaining, but that's about it. If you stopped playing for the same reasons as I did you'll probably not find much to like if you get back into it.

I'm shit at aiming so I just main Junkrat because he's who I have the most fun on. In QP everyone just plays DPS heroes and calls it a team comp which is just not fun, and I'm not willing to be the only support/tank. In competitive everyone just get's so pissy that it's not even fun. It'd get back into it if I had some friends that played it though.

I just used a bit of store credit I got from trading in a bunch of games and consoles last summer (to consolidate for moving to China) to buy four new games for my Switch. I had a hard time deciding exactly what to get because the selection wasn’t the greatest unfortunately, and more unfortunately it’s not a chain store. But anyway, I’m still excited to get into the new Smash Brothers and Dead Cells. I also got Mortal Kombat 11 (kind of a meh choice in my mind, but it’s still kool) and Cytus Alpha (a music/rhythm game I’ve never heard of with over 200 songs on it, so hopefully it’s a keeper), but I would have rather gotten some other games which weren’t present.
Oh yeah, and I preordered Pokémon Shield. Heh I chose shield because it sounds like the opposite of my style. In general, my playstyle in rpg games is one that favors speed and strength, which I feel is embodied by the “Sword” title, but since I always play games this way, I decided to be different and chose shield, not that it actually says anything about how I’ll choose to play the game in the end. Just a feeling.

Although I’m currently fully submerged in Super Mario Odyssey, and I also have quite a few other games lying around waiting to be played, I ended up at the local game store and used up the rest of my store credit to get Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Considering I’ve seen a good friend has already put over 250 hours into it, this looks like a potentially self-damaging decision. But damnit it looks so good!
Also, again I can’t stress enough how amazingly well-done Mario Odyssey is! I’m approaching the endgame bit, and since I am hoping to play more games soon I thought I’d skip out on endgame, but I searched what the endgame has to offer and now I just can’t wait to dive into that content!

Back on my Overwatch kick, and I'm liking Sigma a lot. He's really fun when you have a cooperating team and what not. Throwing rocks at peoples faces is the fucking shit too.

Anyone else finding themselves less and less into gaming? In a way it’s a sad feeling. There are some incredible games I’ve played. But really, I haven’t picked up my Switch in almost 30 days, and I haven’t touched my PS4 since early June. I had even started Final Fantasy 7 almost a month ago, super excited to play it, only to get in three short sessions before never touching my Switch again.
Also, new games just don’t interest me at all. I could counter my statement if there was a Skate 4 coming to Switch or PS4 anytime soon, but nah.

I've not felt like a gamer in a long time now. And I have said that new games don't really interest me anymore.
But I've gotta be honest and admit that I saw stuff about that new game, The Outer Worlds, and I really want to play that! I guess I miss Fallout New Vegas a bit.

I finished Death Stranding over the weekend. What an incredible game. Very cinematic and very Kojima. Tempted to plat it over the next few weeks.

There was a pretty good sale on Switch's online store last week, so I snagged Skyrim. Hope it's gonna run well on Switch. I always wanted to play it in portable form. I also hope that I find enough time to get around to playing it. I rarely game these days, but I'm so excited to get into it again. I just arrived at the last disc of Final Fantasy VIII on my Switch, so I'm almost done.
Also, it took about 6 days of constantly running my Switch to finish downloading Skyrim to my Switch. Not sure if that's how it normally goes, or if that's just how slow the wifi here is in all locations I loaded it up from here in China, but it was ridiculously slow.

I just finished Final Fantasy VIII in Switch last night. Wow, I forgot how hard the final boss was, but she was a real bitch! Finished the game at about 41 hours of gameplay. Way less than my last time. I tried not to grind all the time this runthrough.
It never ceases to amaze me how much magic was put into those PSX-era mainline Final Fantasy games. 7, 8, and 9 are just magnificent games with excellent storytelling, attractive character development, beautiful and cutting edge art and graphics works for the time, and beautiful music. The endings to both 8 and 9 can easily bring me to tears with how beautifully they were done. These are games that I will always treasure.

I've never completed any of the PSX-era Final Fantasys, are you playing a remake or the original? I loved Final Fantasy X (lol) and Dragon Quest games so maybe I need to get on it.
Just playing GTA IV for the first time, it's good but I'm kinda rushing through it rather than taking my time

Just playing GTA IV for the first time, it's good but I'm kinda rushing through it rather than taking my time I think you should go for completing FFIX if you are thinking about completing one of the PSX era Final Fantasy games. In my opinion, it is the most perfectly balanced and executed game in the series, even though VIII is my personal favorite. VII is the longtime fan favorite, but I find its lacking ending puts a damper on the story build up and leaves me disappointed. But the story is full of interesting areas. I play the HD remasters of these that have been released on both Switch and PS4. GTAIV is a game I mostly enjoyed when I rushed through it actually. That way the story felt more cohesive, as opposed to freely branching out and hanging out, which tends to cause me to lose focus of the storyline. GTAIV is quite a good game, really.
