I'm a sucker for small independent games, but sometimes it's hard to know which ones are worth dropping 10 or 15 bucks on.
If you want to recommend an indie game, ask about one, or warn us all away, this is the place to do it.

I am not huge on indies, but Flower and Journey were both great on PS4.

Hyper Light Drifter is really cool if you're into old school adventure games like Legend of Zelda or Castlevania. Hard as fuck too

I love indie games. I literally just finished playing through Dear Esther. It's an hour long and felt more like reading a book than playing a game. Worth checking out.
Here's a few PS4 gems I've discovered (tbh I'm not sure they're all genuinely "indie" but they have an indie feel at least): Firewatch - really memorable story and beautiful minimal art style Journey - loved it so much on PS3 I bought it again for PS4 Gone Home - another really memorable story Neverending Nightmares - it's hand-drawn which looks really cool although the story passed me by a little Virginia - played it because I heard it had parallels with Twin Peaks and the X-Files. It's got another really unique style - very minimal graphics and no dialogue at all Never Alone - really beautiful looking platformer. Also very informative about the eskimo way of life The Unfinished Swan - another really unique game where the environment starts out as a blank canvas and you fire paintballs to reveal it
I think those are all the ones I've played that I'd recommend. I started Everybody's Gone to the Rapture but found the gameplay frustrating for what is essentially a narrative-driven game, so ended up bailing on it. I thought Flower was kind of average and the control system was annoying af.
I have Layers of Fear and Claire both downloaded to play, both horror games. I'll report back if they're any good. I also have To the Moon downloaded on my MacBook as I heard it's a bit like Life is Strange which I absolutely loved.
Would be really keen to hear any recommendations along the lines of the games I've mentioned.

Man check out DEAD CELLS
it´s available at steam early acess now. It can be described as a rogue-like castlevania. It´s quite hard but very addictive

I've been playing/enjoying:
Metrico+ - Puzzle game visually based on infographics. DiscJam - A mix between ultimate frisbee and tennis. Little Nightmares - Side-scroller (?) that looks kinda like if Tim Burton made a video game about midgets, but it wasn't over-dramatic and was actually spooky. Chambara - You need to have somebody locally play this with you, but it's a really great concept. Fighting game where you hide in the contrast of the playing field.

Add Layers of Fear to this list. Good survival horror game (the survival part is easy, it's basically just exploring your environment to uncover the plot).

Just finished playing through Claire. Heard it was a survival horror game with similarities to Silent Hill. Bit of a let down in that department.
It's a pretty basic side scroller and really frustrating at times (especially multiple crashes, I'm not used to that as a console gamer).

I just started playing Goat Simulator last night and I'm definitely hooked. I can't believe such an idiotic sounding concept ended up so damn fun.

Just picked up Steamworld collection (Steamworld Dig and Steamworld Heist) and both games are just great. Very different genres but I'm really enjoying both.

Binding of Isaac. I thought a game about playing as a baby and fighting poop and bugs with your tears was fucking dumb at first, but it's now in my top-five most played games on Steam. Hard as fuck tho.
