I’ve never played any of the dark soul games and I was wondering if I can just jump in with this game or if I need to start from the first

Awwwww man, its totally worth picking up fr. Bloodborne was my intro to From games and I've been hooked ever since I deff will pick one up when the price is right I know they usually have good deals on bundles. I've watched tons of gameplay on Bloodborne and it just looks like a whole new experience from the souls games. same. I screamed at my TV (like a lunatic) when I beat Cleric Beast. literally the biggest rush ive ever had in a video game.

In the first three Souls games (not including #3), combat felt a little heavier and I tended to use shields back then. After playing Bloodborne and feeling the faster paced combat without a shield, I played DS3 without a shield naturally without considering using a shield, and it felt great. It still feels like Dark Souls to me, and there are no guns in it, but really I think DS3 is one of the best games in the Souls/Borne series. Maybe Bloodborne is the most unique though. I personally am about ready to get the remaster of the first Dark Souls and plunge back into that one. It's my personal favorite.

I just beat through Remaster, II and III. Man I'm fucking pumped on fromsoft. Ill be getting Sekiro Shadows Die Twice for sure. Have you played Demon Souls?

I’ve never played any of the dark soul games and I was wondering if I can just jump in with this game or if I need to start from the first Pantera you can literally pick up any and play. I'd advise Bloodborne though. has the most intense gameplay and is very fast paced, much darker in tone and has some semblance of a story

Actually, I bought a PS3 about three years ago simply because I wanted to play Demon’s Souls. I have always been a huge fan of the series and I just couldn’t live with knowing I never played Demon’s Souls. I only played through that game twice, while I’ve played through all other Souls games and Bloodborne at least 10 or more times each. Demon’s Souls was a fine game, and I loved some of its bosses, but its level design, sound, and other things were quite lacking compared to the Dark Souls release, so I never felt much desire to play it more.

stringypoo damn lol well im about to create a Japanese playstation account so I can rent it on PS4. There are wild claims of a Demon Souls remaster, but don't take that to heart. Any other game suggestions? Oh, I seriously doubt that remaster will ever happen, as it has been a rumor for ages. I haven’t played anything else that’s quite in the same vein yet, but I hardly game lately. So busy. I did, however, buy Nioh right before I left Arizona to come to China in case I found time to play it, and I will probably start that one soon. As far as I know, it’s the closest to the Dark Souls series so far, and from what I’ve seen of it, I don’t feel too much reason to doubt it as a closest comparison. Still haven’t played it yet though. You may already know of it though. Dark Souls may just be the reason why I cannot get into most other 3rd person games. I played a lot of Dark Souls and then I later wanted to try the Witcher 3, but the combat felt so damn floaty and imprecise that I couldn’t stand Witcher 3. And it makes button masher combat games annoying too. Can’t get into combat of God of War games and things like that as well. I guess there is just something so magical about the combat precision in the Souls series. For me, it really doesn’t get any better (aside from the jacked up hit boxes in DS2) than the combat system of the Souls series. I really feel like getting back into the games now that we’re talking about this. Haha
