Bumping this thread for the sake of it.
As an Atlantan, I can say fuck the sun, heat, and humidity. Walking through soupy air is miserable. We get nice enough falls every off year or so, but usually they're way late because summer doesn't scamper off until close to mid October. If I could live in perpetual 50 degrees (Fahrenheit) I would without a second thought.

Cat 5 hurricane making big news. Looks like it'll miss most of the U.S., but the Bahamas might not exist tomorrow. I think my parents and grandparents are good in Myrtle Beach, as they're each 10 miles from shore, but it could be hairy if it inches a little more westerly.

Well, I’m not sure how good my news coverage is, or perhaps the timing of the news since I’m over in China, but I hope all our Floridians and those in the Bahamas and all are alright. Looks like it turned out to be quite a whopper.
Honestly, I don’t think I could handle living in Florida with these kinds of events going on every now and then. We get typhoons here in Shanghai area, but they’re never that bad if you live in Shanghai. It sucks if you’re in a neighbor city for some reason though. Kinda odd. That’s why the older shanghainese call it a lucky city.

My parents live on a boat and generally keep to the area between the Bahamas and Grenada (Just north of Venezuela.) They had to boogie to get away from this sucker of a storm. Whole family was on pins and needles waiting to get word of them getting to safety - apparently mooring space is fairly competitive in places just outside a major storm's reach. Picture for reference of where they tend to be sailing.

For those of you using 7-Zip for unzipping/archiving your downloads, it never hurts to go to the 7-Zip website and download the most recent version.
I had so many downloads with "File could not be opened as archive" errors for more than a year now, and I always assumed I'd never be able to get around those issues. But then I saw that my 7-Zip version was from 2014, so I downloaded the current version, and then all the sudden my files were fine and I could unzip them. So yeah, if you have had that error before, not a bad idea to download the latest version~

Honestly, I just use Unarchiver... .7z, .zip, .rar; you name it, it'll open it.

Wonder how Jordan ’s taking all of it... Hurricane Dorian just barely missed us. The Bahamas weren't so lucky unfortunately...
