Bands coming out of 04 - 06 is exactly why I will allow bands coming out up to then. Plus when you think about it, at that point that was 12 years ago so at this point their first albums would tend to be over a decade I feel you. although I can't say i'd consider bands like August Burns Red, The Acacia Strain, and The Devil Wears Prada , etc to be OG metalcore. I'd say that the true first metalcore bands all existed in the 90's. The second chapter of metalcore is 2000, then another resurgence in 2004, then afterwards 2007 had a shitload of great albums. And even that was 11 years ago. I mean fuck dude Underoath and Poison the Well were late 90's and even they were "later" metalcore. Totally not arguing just pointing some shit out, debates on music are always fun. Maybe I'm just old. True. I mean August Burns Red had a pretty good demo in 2003, but most of those bands I would consider glam metal of the metalcore scene. It's like "yeah, technically this is metalcore. But it doesn't mean its my type of metalcore." I do agree with you

Pretty much every band I'd list has already been mentioned in this thread. However I find the lack of Sworn Enemy disturbing.

I dunno if it's exactly what this thread is about but I feel like Hopesfall's first two releases are seriously underrated

Pretty much every band I'd list has already been mentioned in this thread. However I find the lack of Sworn Enemy disturbing. It’s because of the dullness after 2005. Negative Outlook, the selftitled and some songs of their 2005 album are absolutely worth the mention though.
