Trying to cut back on sugar in my diet. I'm not overweight but I keep hearing about how bad it is for you and how it impacts your mood. I am craving chocolate and cake so much right now. Fruit can take those craving out! Chop up a pineapple!

Ran a personal best distance of 6.25 in just over an hour today, big boys. I've now gone from 30~ miles a week, down to barely being able to finish a 2-mile run, and back up to being able to run over 6 miles at a comfortable/consistent pace. Maybe I'll finally be able to do a marathon next year if I don't start slacking off again.

Yeah, I always feel no motivation prior to working out but once you do..oh fuck. Everything just changes and you keep going, it feels so fucking good. Especially when lifting, that shit just feels so good once you start doing reps. That's literally never happened to me. It hurts during, it hurts after, it hurts immediately before the next time since i'm still sore. It's never felt good. I wish it did. I don't get those endorphins at all. Or, if i do, they are blocked out from the pain and fatigue. All i think about when i start is "when can i stop?" It sucks. I hate that i'm like this. As it is, i do have a small dumbbell set. It's dusty now.

There are so many alternatives to refined sugar easily available now. Try date syrup or agave or something. You can bake cakes with that too. Also there's chocolate with coconut sugar. And like someone else suggested: eat more fruit. I never crave sweets and I'm almost a hundred percent sure it's because I eat a lot of fruits. You can't beat a ripe mango!

Agree on everything with this. I only carry agave and coconut sugar in my household. Mango is my favorite fruit! Best when sliced apart or else it gets really messy.

Plus even if you're not vegan checking out vegan places for sweets is great. Lots of raw sweet treats (with soaked cashews etc.) are made without refined sugar. It took my ages to figure out the best way of cutting mango haha

I already knew that. He's probably right about most of what he said, but he just too loosely pushes aside all the mitigating issues. Maybe i'll start again after i move.

Exercise makes me feel awful, and although I know eventually it gets better I can't help but psych myself out. One idea I've had (that I've yet to implement) is yoga. I could really go for all of the calming and stress relieving qualities of that type of exercise, and I really miss being flexible and not waking up to incredibly stiff muscles every morning.

Gym is not for everyone, but there are so many options these days. Taking care of your body is something you do for yourself. It's not like I always want to go to the gym, but I know that once I'm done there's a good feel that I didn't slack off on it and made a bullshit excuse.

I wouldn't feel too bad. Let's not forget the negative effects of sports though. I know a lot of people who get really anxious when they can't stick to their fitness routine (me included actually). Over-exercising is a thing! Also there are tons of sport related injuries all the time. So in the end I'm not sure if it isnt healthier to not exercise at all but eat healthily and take the stairs and do other everyday activities like walking to work etc etc

Like, she'd be working out most lunchtimes and always have some fitness stuff planned after work. I think she was addicted to the endorphins. She also had this attitude where she looked down on people who didn't exercise, like she was somehow superior because of it. But then all she really had to talk about was fitness. Seemed like a pretty hollow existence.

Maybe a bit overly motivated sometimes. idk. I had a colleague who would constantly count calories and calculate how much cardio she'd have to do to burn those calories again. Lunch was a real pleasure ;P
