This was a really good interview that provided a lot of additional insight.

Looks kind of boring? I never played Destiny besides for like 20 minutes maybe. However, the videos I'm seeing aren't drawing me in. However, it does look similar to Halo so that's nice.

Does this game have classes like a standard MMO (tank, healer, DPS, etc.) or are all of the classes basically just different forms of DPS? I'll probably end up getting this on PC unless it gets terrible reviews.

There are no classes like tank, healer, or dps although you can slightly outfit your character to be better at taking more damage, dealing more damage, or recovering from damage. All classes have their main focus to be DPS but depending on your abilities you can be more helpful in certain classes. For instance, Hunters had a class that generated more orbs which you could pick up to charge your super or in some cases recover health. So you would strategize certain instances where you would have this class generate orbs for everyone else to use.
News coming from E3 is that the game will launch with 2 subclasses per class, which is the same that launched with the original Destiny. The classes introduced in The Taken King are the ones being left out, which means no Sunbreaker Titan, Stormcaller Warlock, or Shadowstalker Hunters. Really feel like this isn't learning from the original as much as I hoped. Knowing they got rid of the Sunsinger's resurrection and that we will only get 2 subclasses are huge red flags for me.

calling it right now. You'll see mixed reviews when it drops. People that loved it will praise it, while critics will say it's a re-hash of Destiny 1 with better graphics and ultimately a money grab (it will be a money grab). I'm gonna praise the shit out of it so don't take my comments on the game w/o considering my bias. If you like games w/ the grind + RNG loot tables and FPS then get this game. You'll prob have to do the same type of shit over and over and over x10,000 times, so if you get bored of shit like that pass on this game cause that's how the grind is. They've already made it so you don't even need friends coming in with you. You can now use in-game features to accomplish end game things and get end game loot. That's something that held a lot of ppl back in D1. I just hope they don't make the PvP metas trash like they did a few times in Destiny 1.

I spent hundreds of hours on all the Borderlands games, I think I'll be fine with the grind, even playing solo, haha.

I'm merely pointing out the critic that will state the obvious and regret buying it when they should've known better in the first place. I don't expect the business strategy for Bungie/Activision to differ much from how they handled DLC with Destiny 1. That being said, people will shit on literally everything for the sake of shitting on something and gaining keyboard warrior notoriety and thus I'm stating the obvious by stating that lol

I mean, a good sequel gives you more of everything you love but also provides additional features or modes that may have been missing in the original. The original Destiny had plenty of problems and areas where they could improve and hopefully Destiny 2 takes a lot of the constructive criticism and improves everything for the new people jumping in. One thing, from all the interviews, that seems like a shame is the fact they're trying to dump the majority of the story touched on from the first game. Which means we won't ever hear of Exo Stranger, Mara Sov, or the Darkness. The idea is that they want to make it accessible to newcomers but I really feel like they created some interesting characters that I wanted to know more about.

But IIRC isn't there supposedly some "10 year" vision for Destiny? If that's the case, then I'm totally ok with those main storylines taking a little more time to hash out. Honestly what I'm most excited about in D2 is the warmind/Rasputin DLC.

I will definitely be getting this. I think I spent close to one hundred hours on the first one trying to raise that light level with friends
