Love college football but I'm way more excited for the North London Derby and F1 race this weekend. First week of college football is always bland.

Good morning CFB fans! For most of us, today is the day! I hope your team finds success today! (Unless it is Vanderbilt)
Oregon & Auburn is the hype match this week - any hot takes from the Marsh?

Wisconsin trampled South Florida, 49-0, so there’s that...

Let's take stock of some of the fun games we saw over the weekend: Miami and Florida both looking like they have a lot of work ahead of them Nevada's Kicker big-dicking Purdue Georgia State beating Tennessee! UNC beating South Carolina Florida State getting embarrassed by Boise State Memphis beating Ole Miss (with all due hype to my boy aquafina) Missouri losing to Wyoming Auburn's last second march against Oregon My Dawgs played Vandy and had it all under control but clearly let off steam after going up 21-0. Next two opponents are softies, so I'm just gonna have to coast until week 4 with Notre Dame and deal with the hot takes in the interim. Our O-Line looks like it has potential to be the best in the nation this year though!

Decent week 1 of CFB, should really heat up this week though with LSU/Texas and Texas A&M/Clemson. Week 1 thoughts: - LSU Looked dominant in this new spread offense, I like them by atleast a touchdown over Texas this weekend. - Georgia Did what they had to do against Vandy. Georgia/LSU SEC Champsionship game this year (what do ya think Corvus ?) - Auburn... Bo Nix is a stud, they got themsevles a good QB but they got a long ways to go this year. - Tennessee lost a home opener for the first time since 83', I think it was. Not good times for Rocky Top right now. - Bama and Clemson will still be the teams to beat, but I think they are both geared up for a WTF loss this year. - Pac 12 and Big 10 will be a complete clutter gunning for the championship this year and I am all for it. - I was not impressed with Michigan, they need to get it together quick with Wiscy in 3 weeks. - Took my son to the Memphis/Ole Miss game which was a blast. Memphis has a LOT of work to do if they want to win that AAC Championship this year. Defense looked stellar, offense not so much. All in all, decent week of games. My bets were barely under .500 which isnt ideal. Hoping to get em back this week though.

Buckeyes had a nice game in a game we had no chance losing. Fields is looking legit though, him and Haskins have really been a nice breath of fresh air after a decade of QB play that always had question marks. If we take care of business this year we should be able to get back into the playoff and not have to leave that choice up to a fucking committee.
Not much of an SEC guy but I presume we all agree on the whole "fuck Bama" thing?!

aquafinaI'd be excited. I think LSU is slightly scarier than 'Bama from a strictly UGA perspective. Kirby has proven he can render the starting 'Bama QB ineffective, and it seems like they're out of 2nd string heroes to lead the tide to a comeback victory this year. LSU, on the other hand, made Fromm look like a nonfactor last season - which could just be an off day for the Georgia QB, but is more likely a result of Orgeron's elite defense doing a stellar job. LSU has one hell of a schedule to grind through if teams stay consistent. Texas, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, A&M (in order) would mean they'd have to be damn near perfect, and facing the Dawgs in full force at the end of that road could very well be the toughest stop on that schedule if both teams are in form. On the other hand, the Dawgs face only 3 top 25 teams, all of which are also on LSU's schedule. If it did come down to those two in the SECCG, it would be a clash of titans and I would lose days of sleep prior to kickoff. Also, consider that in 2017, Auburn sleeper beat Alabama and lost to Georgia in the SECCG and Bama still got the slide in and won it all. I worry that if the same thing happened only swapping Auburn for a better LSU, I would die of liver failure before 2021 and that idea is hard to wrap myself around. Although the not preferable (to me) alternative where LSU wins the SECCG would make the committee implode, which would spark some joy. Being nearly legally forced to exclude 'Bama would almost be a worthy sacrifice that would keep me giddy for weeks. I want an 8 team playoff, Dabo be damned, and anything that drags us closer is at least a silver lining. Forgive the rambling. Also, who do you call being the aforementioned WTF losses? CalvinballI'm usually in the fuck 'Bama camp. Would have preferred they beat Clemson last year for the sake of my own team, but I'll never really feel down seeing them eat a fat L. Me & mine aren't big fans of the Fields transfer because of the nature of his appeal and the watery racism claim. Fine with him moving on, but didn't like that he besmirched the name of UGA to do it, even if it was strictly business so to speak. Hard to root for him specifically, but I've never disliked OSU outside of Urban. I think they'd be a really fun opponent. OSU's schedule is about the only thing that keeps me guessing. I don't see a team on that list that I actually worry about them losing to. I know that Penn State and Michigan are probably question marks to OSU fans, but I don't actually have a single shred of doubt that they'll clear those opponents without breaking a sweat. Rutgers and Michigan State feel like more legitimate threats in my mind, and that's more superstitious chaos worship than anything else. a 12-0 season schedule for OSU, even with a new coach, seems more likely to me than the alternative, call me crazy. UGA v OSU is my ideal bowl or Natty, but only because of the immensely biased part of me that believes that the matchup would favor the Dawgs. To your last bit about SEC, I'll ramble just a bit further to say that the conference in general is looking to have a top-heavy year. People all over the online world are flocking to the idea that the king-conference is slain now that UT lost an embarrassing bout to Georgia State and Scar lost to NC, but totally ignoring that 'Bama, UGA, LSU, Auburn, A&M, and UF all look like serious threats to everyone on their schedule (with some degree of reasonable doubt being placed on Auburn & Florida until they do more to prove themselves.) In summary, SEC still has insane amounts of committee goodwill, West has the potential to be mega stacked, and it is far too early to sing "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead" on the (slightly exaggerated but over-all decently earned) conference bias. All that to say, yeah fuck 'Bama dude.

Not much of an SEC guy but I presume we all agree on the whole "fuck Bama" thing?! With all due respect, most fans would kill to have the past decade of Ohio State QB's... Terrelle Pryor, Braxton Miller, Cardale Jones, JT Barrett! Those dudes won yall a shit ton of games. I really cant think of another university right now which has had better QB's than OSU over the past decade. Let me think on that and come back. With all that said, keep in mind Fields still only has one college start under his belt so I will have to see him a few more times before I start making any judgments. Speaking of the committee - who the fuck picked them? I'm sorry but im going to say it - why the fuck is Condoleeze Rice deciding who should be apart of the CFP Playoff. Absolutely Ridiculous. Huge SEC guy here - along with Corvus. I think I am in the camp of "Fuck Bama Fans" rather than "Fuck Bama'. They are truly some of the worst and I have to work and interact with them every single day.

They also lost a bunch of key ones that kept us back a bit, and aside from Jones (in his Jr year) none of them were exceptional passers. They all had consistency issues, and there is a reason the only one of those guys who are still playing football is a WR now. Like I said I could be jaded, at the end of the day I'm just saying I like Haskins/Fields way more than the guys we had for the past 10 years.

Corvus, I don't disagree wholly. We have a lovely track record of losing games we should absolutely steam roll. I don't know if it was an Urban Meyer thing, or if the team just plays down to lesser opponents. Either way, every team we play (especially in the Big 10) plays up to us, they all fucking hate us, they treat OSU week like a rivalry week when OSU only treats TuN like a real rivalry week. I hope we don't get sniped by a small team again, and I think the teams you mentioned and even Wisconsin could give us a run for the money. No one is worried about Ryan Day, he's not a new name for us. He was the head coach for the first few games last year and everyone went into last season talking about him as Urban's heir apparent. The team knows and respects him and he's still recruiting just as well as Urban did. The program is in good hands for a long time I thinks.

Top Ten matchup as LSU and Texas collide tonight! Also excited to watch Clemson v A&M in a few hours, will probably catch more of that than UGA's glorified stat-padding photo op as they take on Murray State.
Edit from later in the night:
LSU v TX was great, if not for a few drastically bummer parts. Clemson took care of A&M in a way that's scary and disappointing to SEC homers like myself. Dawgs took care of business and our offense looks reloaded and ready to kill. Good day for college ball all around.
